Building Character... One Word at a Time

June: Citizenship

Citizenship- Citizenship is the way you conduct yourself within a community, such as the town you live in or the school you go to. Good citizens give back to that community by doing things that make it better, while poor citizens try to tear it down. What are some things you could do to show good citizenship in your school? What actions would be examples of poor citizenship in the town or city you live in?

Welcome to Mamaroneck Avenue School, or as we call it "MAS." MAS is a very special place, the center of the multi-cultural community of Mamaroneck, New York. MAS is a home for our families and their children. We believe in a partnership which puts children and their education at the center of our work. All of our modern facilities are designed to create a safe, nurturing environment in which children can develop a love of literacy, and build the skills they need to succeed in school. Our teachers and parents work together to nurture curiosity, build strong learning behaviors, and develop a life-long love of learning.

Welcome to our school. I hope that you enjoy the tour, and you can see the evidence of the wonderful work our teachers and children do together each day.

Principal, MAS
